Peachstate Speedway

Team Clean finishes 11th… so far.

We had a great run going this past Saturday Night at Peachstate Speedway until trouble reared with 19 laps to go. Davis Elliott qualified the car in 12th position of the 31-car field. We were loose in qualifying, which should have made for perfect conditions for the early evening start of the race. Elliott started patiently trying to save the tires for later in the 100-lap event, we initially dropped to 14th before mounting a charge half way through the race. Elliott began picking off cars one by one until a late caution flew with 19 laps remaining. Elliott had moved to eighth position with the leaders in full view. On the re-start the car became wickedly loose almost to the point of uncontrollable. Elliott wrestled the car home loosing a few spots in the process. We finished twelfth on the track, with a very ill handling racecar. During our post race inspection of the car it was found that the left rear tire was slowly loosing air and was nearly flat by the end of the race. Elliott’s mastery behind the wheel of a racecar running on three tires was a savior for the team, pulling out a respectable finish. Read the rest of this entry »
