    South Georgia Motorsports Park to host the Georgia Asphalt Series

    CECIL, Georgia — The Georgia Asphalt Series (GAS) for Pro Late Model Stock Cars, is pleased to announce the series will make it’s first visit to the 5/8 mile oval, South Georgia Motorsports Park, Saturday evening, April 22nd.

    The GAS Series is a touring series based out of Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Georgia. In 2006, over 100 drivers from 7 states competed with the series.

    In 2006, the series will run at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Georgia, Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Georgia, South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, Georgia, Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia (April 15, June 10 and September 2),
    Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery, Alabama and of Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, South Carolina

    “We are pleased to take the GAS Series to such a top notch facility like South Georgia,”
    said Micky Cain, GAS Series Director.

    The speedway is located off I-75 (From either the North or South) and get off on exit 32.
    From the Exit 32, go East on Old Coffee Road for .3 miles and then go North on Highway 41 for 1.1 miles to SGMP.

    Georgia Asphalt Series expanding to new tracks and into Alabama in ‘06

    Jefferson, GA (January 3, 2006) - With the growth of the Georgia Asphalt Series (GAS) for Pro Late Models, the series will expand to new tracks, including one in Alabama.

    The GAS Series will kickoff it’s 2006 season at a new venue for the series, Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Georgia, on March 11th. The series will revisit the 3/8 mile oval on August 5th. Another new venue for the series will be Montgomery Motor Speedway near Montgomery, Alabama. There are three dates scheduled at the historic 1/2 mile oval (May 13, July 8 and October 7).

    The series will also compete at it’s home track, Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Georgia and at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia. GAS Series Officials are currently in negotiations with Management of other speedway’s for additional events.
