Senoia, GA
Senoia also turned out to be a productive points night with a sixth place finish. After qualifying 13th out of the 25-car field Elliott was able to methodically move his way through the pack. As a few accidents marred the race Elliott again brought the Team Clean Monte Carlo home with nary a scratch. We are ever so close to that top spot but have been dodging some handling demons that rear up during the event. Unlike N.A.S.C.A.R. (no pit stops) once we have settled on a set-up for the night we have to live with it otherwise loose valuable track position. As we have been running in the top ten, it is difficult to give up those positions during a 100-lap event to come in and make adjustments. But we have not given up nor are resting on our laurels we are continually adjusting and tweaking to find that perfect combination of handling, power and drivability. The key is to have the car maintain a consistency throughout the race as conditions change IE: Fuel loads, temperature, tire wear. We are close to finding that balance that is necessary to finish up front.
Thanks to all those who have been cheering us on & have attended some of the events.
It is always nice to have a cheering section on hand. We look forward to seeing all you again at future events.
We have four races left in the series and look forward to climbing even higher in the standings and with our finishes. I will try and up-date this site as soon as the points are posted but my best guess is we are in 8th possibly 7th. It has become much tighter from 3rd on back so every point will be crucial during these last events.
